"Just the Nicest Couple" is the latest twisty thriller from 'Queen of Suspense' Mary Kubica.
Those following my Goodreads page and blog posts know that I have been a massive fan of Mary Kubica since her enthralling debut novel - "The Good Girl," published in 2014. I recommend that book to EVERYONE, and Kubica has been an automatic buy for me ever since.
This tale starts with an equally gripping and mysterious prologue. For me, that was it - I was hooked and binged the entire book in one sitting.
We are introduced to two couples - Christian & Lily Scott and Nina & Jake Hayes. Immediately, we learn that something is amiss, Jake is missing, and Lily thinks she may have been the last person to see Jake alive.
As the plot unravels, friends, coworkers, and loved ones are all asking themselves the same question: who can I trust?
Kubica never disappoints when it comes to plot twists - and I must say, the ones in this story are executed flawlessly.
I never like to give spoilers - so I will end the synopsis here.
As for my thoughts - I loved this book and have already recommended it to several friends.
If you are a fan of Mary Kubica and familiar with her other work, I believe this is one of her best. I ranked it with The Good Girl and Local Woman Missing, which I also rated 5 stars.
