The West Wind (The Four Winds #2)
by Alexandria Warwick
4 out of 5 stars
Alexandria Warwick's "The West Wind" is the mesmerizing second book in the "Four Winds" series. Building on the momentum of "The North Wind," this series seems to be more of a standalone collection, in that this installment focuses on Zephyrus' story. We hear Zephyrus tell a story about Wren and Boreas, but they are not characters in this book.
Warwick's narrative style is beautifully descriptive, crafting a world that is both familiar and filled with wonder. The story is brimming with rich details and complex world-building, making the fantastical elements feel tangible. The plot unfolds at a steady pace, with unexpected developments that maintain a sense of suspense throughout.
Our beloved characters, Brielle, Zephyrus, and Harper, find themselves on a journey together, and even though they'd most likely prefer to travel alone, they need one another.
Their growth is thoughtfully depicted, demonstrating their fortitude in overcoming challenges. The simmering relationship between Brielle and Zephyrus adds a layer of tension and excitement to the narrative, while Harper's role introduces an intriguing dynamic that propels the story forward.
"The West Wind" showcases Warwick's exceptional storytelling ability. It's an essential read for fans of the series and fantasy lovers alike. The book concludes on a promising note, leaving readers eagerly anticipating the next book about the next brother.
In summary, "The West Wind" is a tale of courage, love, and adventure that will captivate you from beginning to end.
