A Month of Mysteries and Milestones – My January Reading Recap
Hello, fellow bibliophiles! As January winds down, I’m excited to share a quick recap of this month's reading adventures and a glimpse into my 2024 reading goals.
January Reads: Starting Strong
In January, I turned the pages of 18 incredible books, setting a solid foundation towards my ambitious goal of reading 80 books this year. That's 22.5% of my annual goal achieved in just the first month, far surpassing the average pace needed to meet my target!
Agatha Christie Challenge
A special focus this year is on the queen of mystery, Agatha Christie. In January, I delved into 9 of her works, which is about 9.38% of her astonishing collection. These captivating mysteries have been a highlight of my reading journey, offering intricate plots and unforgettable characters.
Looking Ahead: February's Literary Expedition
As we step into February, my journey through Agatha Christie's captivating mysteries will continue. Alongside these classic tales, I'm thrilled to dive into an eclectic mix of anticipated reads. On my list are:
"House of Flame and Shadow" by Sarah J. Maas, promising a blend of fantasy and intrigue.
"Fangirl Down" by Tessa Bailey, expected to be another delightful contemporary romance.
"Euro Dreams" by Kate Stewart, which I anticipate will be a compelling romantic dramedy.
"Icebreaker" by Hannah Grace, a novel that's been on my radar for its intriguing premise.
"The Wall of Winnipeg and Me" by Mariana Zapata, a book I'm eager to explore given its popularity.
Continuing my journey with the "Lovelight" series by B.K. Borison, I'm set to read:
“In the Weeds” (Lovelight #2), where I'm looking forward to more of Borison's charming and heartfelt storytelling.
“Mixed Signals” (Lovelight #3), anticipating how the series evolves and deepens, particularly in its exploration of relationships and personal growth.
Additionally, I have some exciting ARCs lined up to review:
"The New Couple in 5B" by Lisa Unger, an intriguing novel out in March.
“Business Casual” (Lovelight #4) by B.K Borison, which I'm fortunate to read ahead of its July release. I'm particularly excited to see how Borison wraps up the series with this installment.
"Given Our History" by Kristyn J. Miller, a 'read now' pick from NetGalley, due for release in August.
Each of these books brings its unique flavor and excitement, and I can't wait to share my thoughts and experiences with you. Stay tuned for reviews, insights, and perhaps a few surprises along the way!
