5 out of 5 stars
**SLIGHT SERIES SPOILERS AHEAD**
I've just finished reading Kingdom of Ash, the epic conclusion to Sarah J. Maas's Throne of Glass series, and let me tell you, it's everything I've been waiting for and more. In this review, I want to focus on the incredible strength and tenacity of the female characters who truly set this book ablaze.
First off, we have to talk about Aelin, our fierce and fiery protagonist. Throughout the series, she has been amazing, and in this final installment, she's at her absolute strongest. Aelin's journey of self-discovery and her unyielding determination to save her kingdom has been inspiring from the start, and in Kingdom of Ash, we see her reach new heights. Her courage and resilience, even in the face of unimaginable challenges, make her an unforgettable heroine.
But the beauty of this book isn't just in Aelin's strength; it's in the other incredible female characters that surround her. Manon, the witch with a heart of gold, shines brighter than ever in Kingdom of Ash. She and her Thirteen are a force to be reckoned with, and their complexity and development over the series is nothing short of remarkable.
The Thirteen's unbreakable bond and unwavering dedication to their cause is clearly demonstrated. They embody the essence of unity and teamwork, showing us that when women come together and support one another, they can overcome even the most insurmountable obstacles. The Thirteen's role in this final battle is both thrilling and deeply moving, adding another layer of depth to the already rich tapestry of fierce female characters in the Throne of Glass series.
Yrene's resilience and determination to help those in need, despite the personal risks involved, make her an inspiring character to follow. In Kingdom of Ash, we get to see Yrene's character development reach new heights as she navigates the complexities of war and politics, all while continuing to discover the depths of her own power. Yrene's unwavering commitment to healing, and her ability to forge strong connections with others – including some of our favorite characters – make her a vital addition to the ensemble of women in the series.
And let's not forget about Elide and Lysandra, who have also come into their own in Kingdom of Ash. Both of these characters have faced their own trials and tribulations, and they've only grown stronger for it. Elide's quiet intelligence and cunning, coupled with Lysandra's shape-shifting prowess and bravery, make them essential players in the fight to save their world.
Maas has truly outdone herself with Kingdom of Ash. The intricate plotlines, the heart-pounding action, and the emotional rollercoaster she takes us on are all incredible. But the true strength of this book lies in the way it highlights the power of women – their resilience, their intelligence, and their unwavering determination to protect those they love.
So, if you haven't started the series yet, trust me, it's worth the ride. You'll fall in love with these characters, who will leave you inspired long after you've turned the last page.
