Each week of Lent, I plan to share posts that delve into the Gospel, exploring the life and teachings of Jesus in a way that is unfiltered and authentic. My hope is not to preach from a place of judgment but to offer an invitation to explore the transformative power of the Gospel together.

Here's what you can expect in the coming weeks:

Week 1: The Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32) – A reflection on forgiveness and the boundless love of the Father.

Week 2: The Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) and The Parable of the Pearl of Great Price (Matthew 13:45-46) – Discussing the essence of neighborly love and the incomparable value of the Kingdom of God.

Week 3: The Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13:1-23) and The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant (Matthew 18:23-35) – Understanding the conditions of our hearts, the significance of spiritual receptivity, and the imperative of forgiveness.

Week 4: The Parable of the Wicked Tenants (Matthew 21:33-46, Mark 12:1-12, Luke 20:9-19) and The Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard (Matthew 20:1-16) – Reflecting on stewardship and accountability, and exploring grace, divine fairness, and the generosity of God's Kingdom.

Week 5: What Do You Gain When You Lose? Insights from Nicodemus and the Rich Young Ruler

Week 6: Palm Sunday – Reflecting on Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem, symbolizing the fulfillment of prophecy and the public acknowledgment of His kingship.

Week 7 (Part 1): The Events of the Crucifixion – Delving into the profound sacrifice of Jesus, His trials, crucifixion, and death, focusing on the themes of atonement, suffering, and the ultimate act of love.

Week 7 (Part 2): The Parable of the Wedding Banquet (Matthew 22:1-14, Luke 14:15-24) and The Resurrection – Examining the invitation to God's Kingdom and preparedness, culminating in the victory of Jesus' resurrection, affirming hope, new life, and the promise of eternal salvation.

The Gospel in Detail: The Foundation of Our Faith

At the heart of Lent, and indeed at the core of the Christian faith, is the Gospel—the good news of Jesus Christ. It's a message that transcends time, culture, and personal background, offering hope and salvation to all who believe. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16, NKJV). This verse underscores the importance of approaching this task with humility and a commitment to accurately convey God's message.
